[It's hard to imagine the concept of snow and ice when he's never experienced it. Its texture and the sound footsteps would make in it... he wishes he came along to feel it. What would it be like to roll snow in his hands?

If we get an opportunity to go somewhere snowy -- you know, somewhere that's not as horrid as Alaska -- you can go take a look. Since you've got the chance, you might as well try to experience whatever you can. Although you'll probably have a hard time moving; it'll probably be really cold for you.

I won't mind. We survived a blizzard, after all. I think I'll be fine.

[It's not a mission!! It'd be fun. He hasn't gone on those sorts of trips enough, even back when he was juggling his role as a pilot and student. Being always ready for action had its downsides.]

It's not just snow falling from the sky that's dangerous. But you don't have to worry about that here.

[Shinji slides that postcard on top of the other.] They're so colorful! The season here is... fall, right?

Yup. Some trees lose leaves in the fall, while some change colors like these ones -- they're maples; momiji -- and others keep their green leaves all year round.

Momiji... I remember that the ones that keep their leaves are called evergreens.

That's them. Makes sense, right? Do you have any of those?

Yeah. All the trees back home... I guess you could call them evergreens. They never changed colors or lost their leaves, so...

They're probably evergreens, then. Um... what else. I guess I don't really know a whole lot about trees..

You could tell me about what you'd do during the seasons. [He has an idea. People went sledding and skiing during the winter. Snowball fights were something that were popular. He wasn't sure about the other seasons, but he'd be happy to learn about those, too.]

Uh... well, it doesn't always snow as much where I'm from, since it's the city and it's warmer, but when it does, Momo and I used to make snowmen when we were kids. It gets cold, so a lot of houses would have kotatsu, too -- do you know those?

[He wishes he had a chance to make snowmen. His probably wouldn't be good, but...

Slowly, he shakes his head.] What are they for?

They're tables for the winter. You know normal chabudai right? Those tables where you sit on the floor -- kotatsu have this electric heater attached to the bottom, and you can put a tablecloth like futon on it so you get this heated table with a blanket to sit at.

... oh! That sounds really comfortable! [It'd be something nice to have in Exsilium for sure...]

Yeah. They're really nice, and I used to fall asleep while sitting at one all the time.

It'll be nice to have one here too, probably. It's pretty cool here, especially for you right? Since it's always summer at your place.
